Ada Bess Hart

Ada Bess Hart

Ada Bess Hart taught Physical Education at ULM beginning in the 1930’s. She was an advisor, Women’s PE teacher, and Dean of Women for the College of Health Sciences.

Hart taught her students that the real meaning of physical education is to give the students a knowledge of recreational activities to participate in after their school days have finished and they are threatened by obesity through inactivity. She implemented innovative teaching ideas into her classes to stimulate the students and promoted participation on campus in intramural sports.

Impact
