Dr. Francis Wadsworth

The Wadsworth Science Endowment was established by family and friends of Dr. Wadsworth who passed away in 1988. He was instrumental in founding several industrial and education groups in conjunction with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and the university.

He was a retired chemist for Columbian Chemicals Co. and was recognized as an authority in the carbon black industry and had a number of patents. He also served as an adjunct professor at ULM and his family took a special interest in the annual science fair hosted on campus. And he helped found the Northeast Louisiana Small Business Incubator Center on campus.

Impact

The Wadsworth scholarship assists students with financial need majoring in Biology, Atmospheric Sciences or Pre-Pharmacy.

Scholarships
