Glenda Gates Otten Endowed Scholarship for Medical Laboratory Science

NAME AND PURPOSE:
The scholarship shall be named the Glenda Gates Otten Endowed Scholarship for Medical Laboratory Science, and is being established by Doug and Glenda Otten in honor of Glenda’s Medical Technology degree obtained in 1967 and her professional career. The purpose of this endowment is to provide scholarship funding for deserving students in the professional Medical Laboratory Science Program.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

To qualify for the endowment, a student must meet the following:

A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student in the professional Medical Laboratory Science Program.

B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for continuation at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and in the professional Medical Laboratory Science Program.

C. Recipient(s) must have a cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA and must maintain a cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA for renewal of the scholarship.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENT:

The Medical Laboratory Science Scholarship Committee will send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). The name of recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Office as soon as selection is made.
