I Want to Teach Annual Scholarship
NAME AND PURPOSE:
The scholarship is named the I Want to Teach Annual Scholarship, established by a caring donor who wants to make a difference. The purpose is to provide a scholarship to cover tuition, fees and books for deserving undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Education.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following:
A. The recipient must be a full-time freshman student pursuing a degree in Education. Preference is to a student who is a veteran of the United States military service.
B. Recipient(s) must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and maintain a full load (i.e. 12 credit hours) during the semester.
C. Scholarship is not renewable.
D. Donor’s intent is to assist students who have a financial need as evidenced by the Student Aid Report (SAR) received by the university after the FAFSA process is complete each year and who might otherwise be unable to attend college without this scholarship. Students who are eligible for federal educational grants which do not have to be repaid, such as Federal Pell Grants, are not eligible for this scholarship, absent very extenuating circumstances. The Admissions Office shall have the latitude to make such a decision keeping in mind the original intent of this donation.
