Melray Scurlock Endowed Scholarship

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following:

1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student and in good standing with the university.
2. Recipient(s) must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA to receive the scholarship.
3. The scholarship may be awarded to the same student for multiple years of his/ her college career, not to exceed four years.
4. The scholarship shall be intended to assist the recipient(s) in paying any college education costs that would otherwise be paid to The University of Louisiana- Monroe by the student.
5. First preference in awarding the scholarship(s) shall be given to a student who is a direct descendant of Clarence Ray Scurlock and Melba G. Scurlock. Should more than one student meet this qualification, the scholarship will be awarded evenly to all students meeting this preference. In the event there are no candidates meeting this preference, the scholarship may be awarded to any student at the University of Louisiana-Monroe who meet all the criteria.
