Mac McClung Choral Award

The award shall be named the Mac McClung Choral Award, established by family and friends in honor and in memory of Mac McClung. Mac E.T.McClung was a public choral music educator in 1st through 12th grades in the Winnsboro, Baskin, Fort Necessity and Ogden schools. During his 20 years of teaching, Mr. McClung introduced many Franklin Parish children to music where they excelled and were frequently recognized in state and national competitions. His expectations truly called students forward to a higher level of performance both on and off stage. Through this award, Mac McClung’s passion for excellence in music education will continue to impact lives of music students all over this region.

1. The recipient may be a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in music.
2. Recipient(s) must be at least a junior and must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses.
3. Award is not renewable.
4. Recipient(s) must be enrolled in music and actively involved in one of the choral ensembles the fall semester after the award is received.
5. Recipient(s) must be a serious musician and choral director and display leadership qualities.
6.The award will be presented during the Honor’s Recital in the Division of Music to be applied toward tuition for the next fall semester.
