Neil H. Douglas Scholarship in Vertebrate Zoology
A. Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Biology with special interest in vertebrate zoology
B. Recipient(s) must have completed at least thirty semester hours of course work with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and a GPA of at least 2.75 in biology course work
C. Financial need will be a factor only when two more applicants are considered academically equivalent. In such cases, the applicant with the greater demonstrated financial need will be favored.
D. Scholarship holders may apply for renewals for up to two additional years (assuming funds are available) – 3 years total. However, renewal applicants must have maintained a 2.5 cumulative GPA and earned a biology GPA of 3.0 on a minimum of 24 semester hours during the funded academic year. A new application will be required and renewals will compete with first-time applicants.
Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by the Scholarship Committee that consists of faculty members of the Department of Biology. If during a given year the applicant pool is weak or interest income is low, the Committee may choose not to award a scholarship. Selections will be submitted to the ULM Scholarship Office.
