William D. Hoover Major Impact Scholarship
A. Major Impact Scholarships are awarded through the normal university scholarship selection process
B. Recipients must be a student enrolled at ULM on a part-time or full-time basis in one of the programs that falls under the William D. Hoover School of Accounting, Financial and Information Services
C. Awards are reviewed annually but maybe awarded to the same student for multiple years of his/her college career as long as a minimum 3.0 GPA is earned while under the scholarship award. However, the maximum length of time over which a student can receive the scholarship is four year.
D. It is expected that generally about 60% of the annual earnings on the Endowment will be transferred to the William D. Hoover Major Impact Scholarship and used towards these scholarships.
E. Minimum criteria are identified above but preference will be given to student who meet one or more of the following criteria:
i. Student is from Tensas or Ouachita Parish
ii. Student is in financial need and/or demonstrates a potential financial need (e.g., working part-time to pay for school, single parent/income family, etc.) or a lack of other financial resources (e.g., TOPS) normally available to students
iii. Student has a minimum 3.0 GPA
iv. Student is currently serving or has been honorably discharged from the United States of America military service
The ULM Scholarship Committee will select the Major Impact Scholarship award recipients
