The Louisiana Cancer Foundation for Research and Education, LLC Endowed Scholarship
To qualify for the scholarship a recipient must meet the following:
A. Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree and meet the minimum requirements for acceptance into the University of Louisiana Monroe.
B. Preference is given to a student that is a documented cancer survivor or currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
C. Consideration will also be given to a student who has suffered a financial impact due to cancer in their immediately family (Father, Mother, Brother, Sister).
D. To qualify for consideration, an essay describing the impact of cancer on the student should be included in the application.
E. Scholarship is awarded on an annual basis only, but past recipients are eligible to re-apply.
F. Preference is given to a Louisiana resident.
Recipients of the Louisiana Cancer Foundation for Research and Education, LLC Scholarship will be recommended by the LCF Board of Directors. The recommendations will be sent to the University Scholarship Committee for final selection. The name of the recipient shall be forwarded to the ULM Scholarship office and the Louisiana Cancer Foundation Executive Director as soon as the selection is made. The selection will be based upon the amount of impact that cancer has had on the individual and the persuasiveness of the essay. Preference will be given to the documented cancer survivor and resident of Louisiana.
