Winton Mizell Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship was established by Mrs. Duline H. Mizell in honor and in memory of Winton Mizell, a member of the faculty in the Department of History and Government from 1966 until his death in 1981. Dr. Mizell taught courses in Government and Religion and advised Legal Studies (Pre-Law) majors. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving history students.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following:

1. The recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in History.
2. All students applying for the scholarship will be expected to furnish the selection committee with a written statement describing their career goals.
3. The recipient(s) must have accumulated a minimum of 30 semester credit hours with a 3.0 GPA before becoming eligible for the scholarship.
4. The scholarship is renewable for three years provided that the recipient(s) maintains a 3.0 GPA each year in History.
