The Dr. Frank Bruscato Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Chemistry & Leadership

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following:

A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in pre-med or chemistry with the intention of applying to medical school
B. Recipient(s) must have a 3.7 minimum GPA in college courses
C. Recipient(s) must have a 3.7 minimum GPA in science-based college courses
D. Applicant must provide a list of community service they have initiated/participated in, and provide the name of the organization they supported as well as a contact person to provide evidence of said service. Please provide an example of the assistance this gave the wider community.
E. Applicant should provide a personal statement stating their motivation for applying to medical school and what has served as the catalyst for wanting to become a physician. Please detail strong work ethic through academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and job-related experience. Any personal or academic challenges would be encouraged to note.
F. Applicant should provide specific leadership roles they have served in, both on and off campus, and detail the impact of these roles on their future as a physician
G. Applicant will also detail any shadowing opportunities they have had and include the physician, the discipline, and the dates of service
H. Applicant may also detail any research they have conducted or been party to prior to applying for this scholarship
I. Scholarship funds must be utilized by the end of one academic year. At the end of the year, any unused funds will be used to support new awardees in the next fiscal year. The scholarship is not renewable.

Selection of Recipient(s):
The ULM Scholarship Office will award the scholarship based upon these governing criteria and the Faculty Scholarship Committee recommendations
