Alton McCready Memorial Scholarship

The Alton McCready Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and family to honor the memory of an outstanding businessman, husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the ULM School of Sciences, in the interests including, but not limited to, the study of physics.

1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in the ULM School of Sciences in programs including, but not limited to, the study of physics.

2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses.

3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree.

4. Recipient(s) must exhibit qualities of integrity and high moral character as personified by Alton McCready.
