Mary Ellen Soignier Stapleton Endowed Scholarship

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following:

A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing a degree in the College of Business and Social Sciences who has achieved sophomore classification or higher.

B. Recipient(s) must be a Louisiana resident who has completed prior education (high school, home school equivalent, or college) in the state of Louisiana.

C. Recipient(s) must work a minimum of 20 hours per week and submit a letter of recommendation from their employer(s) confirming their work schedule(s).

D. A university student must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA in college courses.

E. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 minimum GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree. Students must apply annually for the scholarship even if awarded in a prior year.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENT:

• The University of Louisiana Monroe Scholarship Office will provide the list of qualified applicants to the College of Business and Social Sciences Scholarship Committee to narrow the list down to the top 3 finalists.
• As per the criteria of selection for this scholarship, the Scholarship Office will provide the list of qualified applicants to the College of Business and Social Sciences Scholarship Committee to narrow the list down to the top 3 finalists.
• The ULM Scholarship Committee will forward the finalists to the donors of the scholarship for final selection.
• The list of ranked finalists will be returned to the ULM Scholarship Committee for final selection and award.
