Mauri Anne Hancock Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Mauri Anne Hancock Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by family and friends as a memorial to Mauri Anne Hancock, a native of Monroe and a seventh generation great-granddaughter of Don Juan Filhiol, the founder of Fort Miro (Monroe). She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 1980 nursing graduate of Northeast Louisiana University. Mauri Anne’s life was spent aiding others with her dedicated and caring attitude to the profession of nursing.

1. Recipient(s) must be in the professional Nursing Program.
2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to renew the scholarship.
3. Recipient(s) must typify the qualities of dedication and competence for which the nursing profession has been traditionally and rightly honored.
4. Recipient(s) must be a graduate of a high school in Ouachita Parish.
